The Ministry of Health had told the parliamentary health committee that PWC was in charge of the vaccination campaign - however, Reporter.lu has revealed that the European Register of Public Procurement tells a different story.
Earlier this week, Reporter.lu wrote that the government was relying heavily on private service providers for the vaccination campaign and mass testing, as well as the hotline linked to the vaccine rollout. The news outlet said that data in the public sphere showed that the government has outsourced contracts for a total of 160 million euros to private companies, including coordination, communication, data processing and staff for the vaccination and large scale testing schemes.
Reporter.lu said this made the process unclear to the public, in terms of how public funds are being spent, and how the responsibilities have been divided during this crucial time period.
