
Acting Minister for Family Affairs Max Hahn, slated to continue his role as a minister for the DP in the upcoming government, underscored the importance of maintaining the foundational trust with the Christian Social People’s Party (CSV). Consequently, he refrained from divulging specific details about the composition of the next government.
Yuriko Backes, who is handing over the Ministry of Finance to the CSV, reflected on her two years of service, noting that she had “worked very hard” to do her job “as well as possible in very difficult times.” She acknowledged that she now received “a new offer,” adding that she is looking forward to the new challenge. When asked to provide insights into the “key data” from the coalition agreement that the DP and CSV committees will be presented with, Backes remained tight-lipped.

Prior to the final DP-LSAP-Greens Government Council, the DP faced criticism from former government colleagues. Green Party politician François Bausch emphasised the dedication of civil servants who diligently carry out their responsibilities “independently of the minister in charge.” He stressed the importance of providing them with timely information about their new leadership, asserting that 24 hours’ notice is not enough.
