Luxembourg City’s ‘Open Air Cinema’ will once again be set up on Place Guillaume II this summer. Cinématique, which organises the outdoor screenings from 25 July to 1 August, promises a variety of fun and well-known films, with “heartwarming classics” and “thrilling blockbuster” included in this year’s programme.
Notable films are Luca Guadagnino’s Challengers, Michael Curtiz’ Casablanca, and Les Demoiselles de Rochefort by Jacques Demy. A special highlight will be Buster Keaton’s silent comedy Sherlock Jr., which celebrates its 100th anniversary this year, and which will be shown on the final night while accompanied by a live music performance.
All films will be shown in original language with French subtitles, with screenings starting at 9.30pm. Though they are free of charge, a first come, first served basis applies. Snacks like popcorn will also be available on site.
