On Tuesday afternoon, a brawl involving four people broke out in the Gare neighbourhood of Luxembourg City. A police patrol despatched to the scene was able to separate two individuals who had become engaged in a physical altercation.
According to preliminary information, the incident stemmed from an earlier dispute. One individual is suspected of having stolen cash from another person several hours before the brawl. The alleged theft was followed by death threats.
The two individuals are believed to have crossed paths again in the afternoon, leading to a physical confrontation. During the brawl, the person accused of the theft was restrained by another individual while two companions of the alleged victim repeatedly struck the suspect.
On the orders of the public prosecutor’s office, the individual suspected of having made the death threats was arrested. They appeared before an examining magistrate on Wednesday afternoon.
