
According to the trade union, the government programme seeks to strengthen the economy and businesses, but fails to take lower earners into consideration. Although the programme takes a liberal approach, many details remain vague and unclear.
Among other things, Back highlighted that tripartite meetings should not be deployed to manipulate the index. In addition, the union said it was regretful that the agreement did not foresee a structural increase for the minimum wage, nor did the CSV-DP coalition’s fiscal policy lend much weight to justice. In general, the OGBL said the agreement fell short of the many promises made to the public in the run-up to the elections, and the agreed measures would mainly benefit businesses and those with high incomes.
