Police announced that numerous burglaries occurred around New Year's Eve and Day, one of which happened at the primary school in Erpeldange-sur-Sûre.

Police announced that a break-in occurred at the Erpeldange-sur-Sûre primary school on Rue Michel Kremer on either 1 or 2 January. Perpetrators broke a window to enter the building. According to a Facebook post by local Mayor Claude Gleis, several doors and shelves were damaged while it remains to be determined what exactly was stolen from the building.

Another New Year’s Eve break-in was reported in Syren. Perpetrators entered a single-family home on Rue de Dalheim and stole several valuable objects, including jewelry, cash, and alcohol. An attempted burglary was also reported in a nearby house.

Another single-family home was broken into in Esch-sur-Alzette on New Year’s Eve.

On 29 December, the youth centre in Larochette was broken into, same as the local football club in Lorentzweiler.

Two burglaries were also reported in Luxembourg City, affecting apartments on Rue Emile Lavandier and on Boulevard Joseph II. In Bettembourg, a break-in was reported on Rue de la Gare.
