The most recent Capgemini report revealed that 42,800 wealthy people lived in the Grand Duchy in 2020, 2,600 more than in 2019.
The combined wealth of rich people increased by 8.3% last year to reach $126.5 billion. This number is five times the amount of the 2020 state budget.
The increase in rich Luxembourgish residents is mostly linked to the investment sector. Another explanation is the increase of real-estate value, which Capgemini determined to be 9.8% last year.
Luxembourgish millionaires invested close to 22% of their portfolios in the real-estate sector. Stock investments make up 20%, while 18% were put into ecological or sustainable alternatives.
