On Monday, the National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (STATEC) and the government published the latest new unemployment figures, finding a rise in job seekers.

As of 30 November, the number of residents in Luxembourg registered as job seekers with the National Employment Agency (ADEM) stood at 19,907. This marks an increase of 6.9% compared to November 2024, a rise of 1,282 people. Over the past twelve months, the increase was observed across all age groups, but was most pronounced among those with a higher education level, where 10.2% more individuals were seeking work year-on-year. Several professional sectors were particularly affected, including secretarial and assistant positions, accounting, and IT.

The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was calculated at 6.2% by STATEC.
