MeteoLux has issued an orange alert for northern Luxembourg from 6am until midnight on Wednesday. 15–20 centimetres of snow are expected to fall during this time. Snow is also forecast in the south of the Grand Duchy, although only 5–10 centimetres are expected.
On Tuesday afternoon, Météolux also issued an orange alert for black ice covering the entire country from 7am to 4pm on Wednesday. This alert signals the likelihood of freezing rain affecting Luxembourg. However, Météolux currently cannot provide precise predictions regarding the expected amount of rainfall, as indicated on their website.
Kachelmann weather services meanwhile expect sleet and black ice over the course of the morning hours. Warnings have thus been issue due to tree branches potentially breaking off and power outages occurring in local areas.

In response to the anticipated weather conditions, the Bridges and Roads Authority, on Tuesday afternoon, revealed the roads that may be closed if necessary. Additionally, the authority emphasises the mandatory use of winter tires for all drivers. Non-compliance with this requirement may result in a fine of €74 for individuals stopped by the police.
