EducationNo data on headteacher resignations in recent years, says Claude Meisch

RTL Today
The Minister of Education said he could not provide information on the number of secondary school principals who had resigned over the past few years, due to data protection laws.

Meisch gave the above response following a parliamentary question submitted by Déi Lénk MP David Wagner.

Wagner said he had received information that a number of headteachers had resigned from their posts and asked the Minister of Education to confirm, and provide a list of lycées relating to the claim.

Meisch said a number of staff had either resigned or declined to prolong their contracts at schools, but said this could relate to various reasons, such as age, health, or new projects.

He added that civil servants who had previously held positions in secondary school management were usually contacted when headteacher positions became available.
