To this day, no significant progress has been made.

The state had previously purchased five hectares of land at Friedhof, but following a veto from the Ministry of the Environment, no construction work will take place on the land.

An inter-ministerial task force, of which the Grand Ducal Fire and Rescue Corps (CGDIS) is also a member, is now expected to find a different site offering the best possible conditions for the urgently needed infrastructure for the emergency services.

In their joint reply to a parliamentary question on the subject by MPs Jeff Engelen and Fred Keup from the Alternative Democratic Reform Party (adr), Ministers Taina Bofferding, Carole Dieschbourg, and Claude Turmes did not mention any specific date or deadline.

However, the ministers did confirm that a number of properties suitable for the construction of a CGDIS Centre have already been found. The exact locations of these properties were not specified.
