This expansion, which introduces 19 new stations across four municipalities in Luxembourg, elevates the total station count to 144, with 94 stations within Luxembourg City and 50 stations spread across neighboring areas.
The Walferdange integration, featuring four strategically located stations, establishes the municipality as the 7th neighboring municipality connected to the vel’OH! network.
Mr. Patrick Goldschmidt, the City of Luxembourg’s Alderman for Mobility, expressed his joy, stating, “The addition of new stations in the north of the capital ensures comprehensive coverage over most of our city. Connecting Walferdange to vel’OH! aligns perfectly with our network enhancement and the new PC1 cycling path, making it a logical and beneficial inclusion.
The City of Luxembourg’s commitment to improving the cycling network aims to promote cycling as a primary commuting choice. With the recent station installations, the vel’OH! network operates 24/7, covering a wider urban area.
