The Federation of Car Dealers and Mobility (FEDAMO) describes the agreement as a “sign of stability and continuity”. The industry is “currently going through difficult times with production bottlenecks, disrupted supply chains and significant delays in the supply of spare parts.”
The new agreement signed with the Independent Luxembourg Trade Union Confederation (OGBL) and the Luxembourg Confederation of Christian Trade Unions (LCGB) will, for instance, include body shops that exclusively carry out dent removal and painting work.
Thus, in the future, it will no longer matter whether a worker is employed by a motor vehicle workshop or a body shop, as all workers in the entire motor vehicle sector will be guaranteed uniform working conditions. However, companies whose activity consists in building car bodies will remain excluded, as they “employ other occupational profiles”.
From 1 January 2023, all workers will receive a 27th day of holiday and an increase in the Sunday supplement to 100%.
