16 hours, no final examNew brochure promotes adapted first-aid courses

The Grand Ducal Fire and Rescue Corps (CGDIS) offers first-aid courses which allow participants to learn techniques and reactions that may be of crucial significance in the case of a medical emergency.

Whereas until recently, participants were required to take 28 hours of lessons in addition to a final examination, they now only have to take 16 hours, without having to pass a final examination.

Following the reform, the refresher courses were scrapped, and the certification participants receive is valid for five years.

The CGDIS offers these courses free of charge throughout Luxembourg. As the old brochure was almost ten years old, a new one was recently presented during a press conference.

The new brochure can be downloaded on the website of the emergency services (website in French, brochure available in French and German).
