
The measures are supposed to help ease financial pressure of insurance payments for both independents and employers. The announced support includes the following points:
1. CCSS contributions, which are usually paid monthly, will not be subject to default interest in the event of delayed payment until 30 June 2021, and assuming arrears are paid when due, there is 0% interest.
2. Forced collection for contributions by employers in the hospitality sector are suspended until the end of March. After that, payment plans may be drawn up with the possible inclusion of a lower contribution rate.
3. Employers and self-employed people who contribute to the Employer's Mutual Fund will receive 100% reimbursement for quarantine/isolation periods rather than the standard 80%, applied retroactively to 1 July 2020.
