The closure was initially assumed to be fairly short with the reopening scheduled for Friday, 15 March. However, authorities have announced that the landslide was probably caused by heavy rain, and the clearing of the mud and trees means the construction work will take longer than initially expected.
The Bridges and Roads Authority therefore expects the closure to continue until 25 March, or perhaps only until 22 March if work progresses well.
