Luxembourg and its capital: 20% of the inhabitants and 40% of the jobs are concentrated on 1% of the national territory.

These figures clearly show that mobility is a huge challenge for Luxembourg City, according to the capital’s mayor, Lydie Polfer.

However, it is important that the planned measures are in line with the needs and wishes of the population. That is why a mobility plan will be drawn up with the participation of local residents, Patrick Goldschmidt, a member of Luxembourg City’s municipal executive, announced. While the public transport network in the capital is important, interregional transport must also be reliable. From Thursday onwards, people will be able to fill in an anonymous questionnaire about their mobility habits, which will be available online or in paper form.

A public information meeting will be held at Grand Théâtre at 6pm on Wednesday. Those wishing to attend can register on the municipality’s website. The CovidCheck system will be in force. The meeting will also be livestreamed.

The plan is expected to be finalised by autumn 2022.
