BettembourgMunicipality maintains coalition of CSV, DP, and Green Party

RTL Today
Following the recent elections in Bettembourg, the political landscape remains unchanged as the municipality will continue to be governed by a coalition consisting of the Christian Social People's Party (CSV), the Democratic Party (DP), and the Green Party.

Despite some shifts in voting patterns, the existing coalition of the CSV, the DP, and the Green Party will continue governing in Bettembourg, as confirmed by Mayor Laurent Zeimet, who stated that an initial agreement has been reached between the three parties.

It should be noted that the Luxembourg Socialist Workers’ Party (LSAP) councillor Roby Biwer emerged as the highest elected candidate in Bettembourg, surpassing Mayor Zeimet by a narrow margin of approximately 40 votes. The LSAP, with 36.8% of the vote, is also well ahead of the CSV, which scored 29.1%.

On election day, both the LSAP and CSV, along with the Green Party, experienced a slight decline of 3%. The DP and the Alternative Democratic Reform Party (adr) were the only parties to improve their results.

The majority seats therefore remain with the CSV, DP, and the Green Party, totalling eight combined. Meanwhile, the LSAP and the adr form the opposition, holding a combined total of seven seats.
