Together with the non-profit association ProVelo, local Maison Relais services, and the Luxembourg Climate Alliance, the municipality of Strassen has launched a new pilot scheme aimed to encourage children to cycle to school.

Over the last two weeks, children aged 7-9, living in the Cité Pescher area of Strassen, have cycled to school, accompanied by members of ProVelo and the Climate Alliance. The aim of the project is to create a safe path for children to cycle from their homes, on one side of the Route d’Arlon, to school.
The project has helped children to get to know the road better, as well as learning to follow the Highway Code.

Over the summer, the authorities will discuss whether the project could become a permanent service, enabling children who live in the area, or further away, to reach school by bike.
