A person was attacked on Avenue de la Liberté on Thursday night, as the aggressor hit him over the head and fled after stealing cash. The victim received first aid at the scene before he was taken to hospital for further treatment. Police launched a search for the perpetrator, but ultimately were unable to locate him. An investigation has been opened.

Resisting arrest

A police patrol in the Gare district noticed two men behaving suspiciously on the corner of Rue de la Fonderie and Rue de Hollerich. When officers approached, the two men attempted to run away, but were quickly secured by police.

Both men proved uncooperative during a search and fought back against the police. One of the individuals had to be immobilised as a result. A short investigation revealed that one of the men was already known to police over previous drug-related offences, but a full body scan showed no evidence of illegal substances on his person. In the end, police issued a fine due to rebellion against officers.

Drink driving

A damaged vehicle was reported to police in Gasperich, as it was observed weaving down Boulevard de Kockelscheuer. Officers pulled the car over and issued a breathalyser test, which returned positive results. The driver was handed a provisional driving ban.

Another vehicle was spotted with a flat tyre on the A4 motorway towards Luxembourg on Thursday evening. Despite the damage, the driver continued on their journey, resulting in a police check. The driver was found to be intoxicated and was also issued a driving ban.
