Chamber of DeputiesMPs unanimously approve 48 infrastructure projects

RTL Today
On Thursday morning, an orientation debate was held in the Chamber to discuss major infrastructure projects planned for the coming years.

The 48 projects range from road construction to development of school buildings, with an estimated cost of 10-60 millions euros.

In order to launch studies on the planned construction or renovations, MPs must vote in favour of the projects. Rapporteur Corinna Cahen explained the projects were designed to improve quality of life, while shortening journeys.

“These plans concern infrastructure that benefits us all, improving quality of life and shortening commutes, in all regions across the country. There will be notable improvements everywhere, in terms of mobility, but also in terms of premises.”

Included among the projects are plans to build a new bridge over the Pétrusse from Hollerich towards the Esch motorway; the demolition of level crossings in Dudelange; a new LuxExpo building; bypasses in Diekirch and Ettelbruck; enlarged tunnels under the Biff and Pétange roundabouts; a turbo roundabout on the N31 near Lamadelaine; and new or renovated schools.
