In Hollerich, officers stopped a person who was zigzagging across Rue de la Semois at around 4am on Thursday. The driver was intoxicated and the car was clamped as a result.
Again in Hollerich, another motorist was observed driving with the car doors open at around 1am on Avenue Guillaume. He lost his licence as a result, and further investigation revealed he had been driving the car despite an existing ban.
Another drunk driver was caught speeding down Boulevard Grand-Duchesse Charlotte at 86 km/h in a 50 km/h zone. Officers confiscated the person's licence on the spot after the breathalyser test came back positive.
Yet another intoxicated motorist was fined after he was caught speeding on the A6 towards Belgium.
Finally, a collision occurred in Echternach after a car stopped to let a pedestrian cross the road and was rear-ended by a second vehicle. The driver of the latter was found to be under the influence of alcohol and drugs, and was brought to hospital for blood tests.
