Police issued temporary driving bans in two separate incidents over the weekend after detecting intoxicated motorists on Luxembourg's motorways.
The first case occurred on Friday afternoon, when authorities received reports of a vehicle travelling through the emergency lane on the A3. A patrol unit pulled over the car shortly afterwards and, upon approaching the driver, officers detected a smell of cannabis. A subsequent drug test confirmed that the motorist was under the influence, leading police to impose an immediate temporary driving ban.
In a second incident, early on Saturday morning at around 1.50am, police were alerted to a vehicle driving in serpentines on the A7. Officers stopped the car and conducted a check on the driver. A breathalyser test returned a positive result, and a temporary driving ban was again issued.
