Food safety alert'Morbier' cheese sold at Leclerc recalled over E. coli concerns

RTL Today
Customers who purchased "Morbier" cheese from Leclerc stores in Luxembourg are being warned not to consume it due to potential E. coli contamination.

On Thursday, the Luxembourg Veterinary and Food Administration (ALVA) issued a warning regarding the potential presence of Escherichia coli bacteria (STEC 017) in “Morbier” cheese produced by the brand Nos régions ont du Talent and sold at Leclerc stores.

The authorities strongly advise against consuming the affected product.

The recall applies to all lot numbers with use-by dates between 8 February 2025 and 29 March 2025, as these products may be contaminated with E. coli. The cheese was sold at Leclerc stores across Luxembourg between 22 January and 19 February 2025.

This recall is distinct from a similar warning issued on Wednesday for “Morbier” cheese sold at Auchan stores, which was also flagged for potential E. coli contamination.

  • In case of an update to this recall or if additional products are affected, the information will be published on the portal www.securite-alimentaire.lu and on the LU-Alert channels (www.lu-alert.lu and the LU-Alert app).
