Two break-ins were reported in the last few hours, including minors being caught in the act of stealing and a drug dealer discovered in the Gare district.

On Thursday evening, a police patrol discovered a man scouring the bushes on Boulevard de la Pétrusse in Luxembourg City. After a closer examination, the authorities found drugs hidden in the greenery. Shortly before, the police had been alerted of a drug dealer in Rue Mathias Hardt who matched the description of this man. The suspect was arrested and will appear before the examining magistrate.

That same evening two burglaries were also reported. In Avenue de la Liberté in Gare, two burglars broke open the door to an apartment. In Mamer, Route de Holzem, one culprit gained access to an apartment though he was surprised by other inhabitants and fled the scene. A search was quickly launched yet without any success. In both cases, investigations are ongoing.

Another burglary involved a laptop that was stolen out of a car in Christnach. The victim was able to catch the culprit and regain his device. Shortly afterwards, the authorities were alerted of two people roaming around cars and checking whether they were locked. On the second try, the police caught them. Since they were still minors, they were sent to the state’s socio-educational facility.
