The Ministry of Health has issued a warning regarding potential complications which can follow a tick bite, such as Borreliosis (Lyme disease), or meningoencephalitis, which has been reported in southern Germany, Austria, and other countries in eastern Europe.

Citizens are advised to educate themselves on the risks of ticks. The Ministry recommends wearing adequate clothing when walking in areas where ticks are rife. Further advice can be found on the Ministry of Health website.
