Hetto's enquiry mainly concerned the organisation of events by local associations. No less than three different ministers replied to the MP's question: Minister of Health Paulette Lenert, Minister for Home Affairs Taina Bofferding, and Minister of Sport Dan Kersch.
In their answer, the ministers pointed out that every sports federation had been thoroughly briefed about what is and is not permitted. The briefings had covered everything from the sport activity itself, to the managing of snack stands, as well as the usage of changing rooms and showers. The individual federations had also been asked to forward these regulations to all of their associations. In addition, all the relevant information could also be found on the website of the Ministry of Sports.
The same was true for culture centres. The ministries had informed those responsible about the sanitary regulations in place and the recommendations for restaurants, cafés, and bars located inside of culture centres.
The ministers also pointed out that should associations have further questions, they could contact the Ministry of Home Affairs by calling a hotline or writing to a specific e-mail address.
Sports federations had been informed about every new measure the same day that it was voted on in the Chamber of Deputies. The ministers also noted that in most cases, the federations did not require any additional guidance and developed their own safety concepts, which often went beyond the measures passed by the MPs. In their function as owners of local sport facilities, municipalities were also free to impose additional measures and restrictions, should they wish to do so.
