Some of the NGOs that signed the agreements with the ministry include Caritas' foundations, Chrëschte mam Sahel (Christians for the Sahel), SOS Faim (SOS Hunger), and Pharmacists Without Borders.
The agreements will allow the NGO to enact projects that are co-funded by the state with approximately €37 million. The projects are planned for numerous developing countries, including Burkina Faso, Niger, Ethiopia, Mali, Nepal, Paraguay, and Bangladesh.
The main scope of the projects is education, the prevention of child labour and the promotion of peace and democratic processes. The last of which will notably take place in Colombia and Rwanda.
Currently, 95 NGOs have signed agreements with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. 16% of the development aid budget goes to these NGOs projects to help people in unfavourable circumstances throughout the world.
Of those nearly 100 NGOs, only 24 have framework agreements with the ministry.
