The email complements the existing phone number of the Luxembourg Veterinary and Food Administration (ALVA), which also accepts complaints. The number of complaints regarding animal cruelty has increased in recent years. In 2023 alone, 143 complaints were filed, with 81 concerning pets and the remainder relating to farm animals.
Residents are reminded that complaints may not be submitted anonymously via email. It is encouraged to provide as much detail as possible when filing a report. Minister Hansen emphasised that the more precise the information provided, the better equipped the authorities will be to take appropriate action.
