On the scene were soldiers, both civilian and military vehicles, as well as members of the Grand Ducal Fire and Rescue Corps (CGDIS). All of them will take part in the annual military parade for the Grand Duke’s official birthday on Friday morning.
Avenue de la Porte-Neuve was shut to traffic for the duration of the rehearsal and public transport was redirected.
Aside from the parade on the ground, the Army will also showcase its military planes on 23 June. They are scheduled to fly over the area between 12 and 13pm. The civil ceremony will take place at the Philharmonie beforehand.
Due to the fly-past and and the respective rehearsals, Luxembourg’s airspace will be shut to “all flights by drones and aircraft operating under visual flight rules”, according to the Directorate of Civil Aviation. This flight ban will be in effect for several hours on Monday, Thursday, and Friday:
