As former Minister Corinne Cahen stepped down from her role in the administration after having been elected to the Luxembourg City council in the municipal elections, a government shuffle has been bound to unfold. Max Hahn thus succeeded Cahen as Minister while Barbara Agostino is now going to represent the DP in the Chamber of Deputies.
The new MP stressed on Tuesday that she wants to focus on equality of opportunity for children and affordable housing, particularly due to her appointment to the Chamber’s housing commission. She also intends to become involved in the environment commission.
Agostino finished the 2018 parliamentary election as the candidate with the seventh-most votes in the southern constituency and the highest-ranking female candidate of the DP. In the recent municipal elections, she received 1,007 ballots in her favour and was thereby elected to the Pétange municipal council.
