Marie-Thérèse Sannipoli-Mehling, a former LSAP councillor for Mondercange and a dedicated social advocate, has died at the age of 82.

Former Mondercange councillor and social advocate Marie-Thérèse Sannipoli-Mehling has passed away at the age of 82. A member of the Luxembourg Socialist Workers’ Party (LSAP), she served on the Mondercange municipal council for 17 years.

Sannipoli-Mehling died on Tuesday. Her tenure on the municipal council lasted from 2000 until 2017.

Beyond her political role, she was deeply committed to social causes. She served as the long-standing president of the Social Office in Mondercange and was both a founding member and the honorary president of the local employment initiative, CIGL Mondercange.

Former Mondercange mayor and ex-LSAP minister Dan Kersch paid tribute to her on Facebook, describing Sannipoli-Mehling as a profoundly dedicated woman. He stated she had been “invaluable” to the LSAP in Mondercange, noting her exemplary commitment and the profound humanity that guided her work.
