The CSV received 43% of the votes in the Hesperange municipal elections and will fill eight out of 17 seats on the local council. As they no longer hold an absolute majority, the conservative party decided to team up with the DP to form a coalition government.
The DP received 24% in the elections and has four seats on the council.
CSV Mayor Marc Lies, who topped the vote with 4,153 ballots cast in his favour, will thus retain his office. MP Claude Lamberty from the DP will meanwhile take over as first alderman. Diane Adehm (CSV) and Guy Wester (CSV) will fill the remaining positions, meaning former alderman Georges Beck (CSV) will now be a regular council member.
