Several jobs are threatened at Luxguard II in Dudelange. According to the OGBL, which announced that it had been informed of Guardian's intention to proceed with "collective lay-offs", 49 of the company's 300 employees are at risk.
The trade union criticised the plan as an insult to both the staff delegation and the OGBL, which has done everything in recent months to ensure that none of the employees concerned by the job maintenance plan (PME), concluded at the end of August, would be under threat. The company specialising in glass production merged its two sites this summer (Bascharage and Luxembourg) and then signed a job maintenance plan in September.
The trade union and the staff delegation "refuse" this social plan and announce that they will use "all trade union means" to have it withdrawn.
