The incident took place during the night from Saturday to Sunday.
After being denied entry, the man was upset and decided to light the woman's car on fire and slash three tyres, before escaping the scene. By the time the fire brigade arrived, the flames could already be extinguished.
Around 9.30 a.m. on Sunday, the police were alerted to a strongly intoxicated man in Dudelange. They found that it was the former partner from Kayl, who continued with his death threats even in presence of the officers. He was arrested by order of the prosecutor's office and brought in front of an examining magistrate on Monday morning. He is now in investigative custody.
