Hit-and-runMan steals car after accident, attempts to run over the owner

RTL Today
Shortly after 6 pm on Friday evening, two vehicles were involved in a road accident near the roundabout on Avenue de l'Europe in Pétange.

An argument broke out between the two drivers after the accident occurred. One of the two men then decided to take a seat in the other driver's car before trying to escape.

The owner of the vehicle tried to intervene by blocking the way, but the man behind the wheel did not give in and drove off, knocking over the driver who had attempted to cling on to the bonnet for several metres.

The police are now looking for any potential witnesses of the accident and the subsequent hit-and-run. Any information should be forwarded to the Differdange police department either by calling (+352) 244 53 1000 or by sending an e-mail to police.differdange@police.etat.lu

Drunk driving

Police officers also pulled over several drunk drivers in Esch-sur-Alzette and Frisange on Friday evening. Two individuals had their driving licences confiscated.

The driver who was pulled over in Esch-sur-Alzette was accompanied by a passenger, who was also inebriated and verbally attacked the police. He was transferred to a drunk tank and a complaint was filed against him for insulting a police officer.
