According to the police, the man was hit several times with a wooden pole. Once the police arrived on site, a group of people had attempted to flee.
The officers were able to locate the presumed culprit in rue de Commerce. The suspect was heavily intoxicated and will be presented to an examining magistrate on Tuesday.
Due to his serious injuries, the victim was admitted to hospital.
