PoliceMan imprisoned for failing to pay outstanding fines

RTL Today
A man was picked up by police in Esch-sur-Alzette on Tuesday afternoon for failing to pay court-ordered fines.

The man was stopped for checks by a police patrol at the Place de la Résistance in Esch, where officers discovered there was a national search warrant out for the suspect, due to non-payment of fines relating to a suspended custodial sentence.

As the man was unable to pay the amount required, the public prosecutor's office ordered his arrest. He was later transferred to prison in Schrassig.
