The intended trip of a 47 year-old man from Luxembourg to Koblenz was abruptly cut short on Saturday evening at the main train station in Trier.
A federal police patrol quizzed the man and requested his identification papers. Upon checking the data it was found that an outstanding arrest warrant from the Konstanz public prosecutor's office was flagged.
The man was wanted for ongoing investigations relating to theft.
He was arrested, charged and taken to the Trier correctional facility, where he is to serve 60 days imprisonment.
