According to Luxtrust, the transition is motivated by security concerns and the need to protect clients, particularly in the context of online transactions and the increasing threat of cybercrime.
Currently, 80% of Luxtrust clients have already installed the free app on their smartphones and use it for transaction identification.
For clients without smartphones, Luxtrust offers the LuxTrust Scan as a physical alternative.

The company provides a guide on its website to help users activate the app. LuxTrust also offers support by telephone (+352 24 550 550), email (questions@luxtrust.lu), and in person at its offices from Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm. It is essential to make the switch by 31 December, as tokens will no longer be accepted for transaction approval after this date.
In addition to its operations in Luxembourg, Luxtrust is active in Belgium, France, and Monaco, and employs around 120 people.
