https://statistiques.public.lu/fr/actualites/2024/stn16-population-2024.htmlAt 672,000 residents as of 1 January this year, Luxembourg’s population experienced the lowest growth rate in a decade - with the exception of the pandemic years - rising by just 1.7%, compared to the average of 2 - 2.5%.

In 2022, the population grew by 2.4% - however, this was largely due to the influx of Ukrainian refugees fleeing their home country’s conflict with Russia.

The most recent growth is also said to be down to migration, as around 27,000 people arrived in Luxembourg in 2023, while over 16,500 also left the country.

6,320 babies were welcomed in Luxembourg in 2023, down by 175 births compared to the previous year. The current fertility rate sits at 1.25 per woman, making it the lowest rate in decades.
