The introduction of this advanced technology is expected to greatly facilitate the identification of hard-to-detect tumours and enhance diagnostic capabilities.
This information was provided by Minister of Health Paulette Lenert in response to a parliamentary question by MP Mars di Bartolomeo from the Luxembourg Socialist Workers’ Party (LSAP).
The eight newly acquired machines will replace the existing seven units currently operational across various hospitals in the country. The Centre Hospitalier du Nord (CHdN), which previously possessed only one such machine, will be equipped with an additional unit.
Consequently, every hospital centre in Luxembourg will be equipped with two state-of-the-art 3D mammography machines.
To ensure a seamless transition, the hospital staff will undergo training on the operation of the new machines, which is scheduled for September.
