The government's press office decided to no longer publish complete parts of the press conferences. This means that journalists can no longer access Q&As, for example.
When asked about this decision, the journalists' association was told that the editing process would simply take up too much time because of the Q&A session. The only way to access the complete recordings is through the link that is sent to news outlets directly.
The ALJP believes this to be a clear breach of freedom of the press, and therefore refuses to accept this decision. According to the association, this reflects poorly on information politics and suggests that media outlets are used for the government's benefit.
In this context, the association demands that the press conferences are published as a whole again, that the government keep its promise on the government programme, and that it anchor access to information for journalists in the Press Act.
