Romain Possing fiert 553 km Vëlo fir de gudden Zweck
A 24 Stonne wëll hien déi 553 Kilometer zeréckleeën an domadder Sue fir de gudden Zweck sammelen awer och op Mëssstänn opmierksam maachen.

The former Luxembourgish long-distance runner, who also has a passion for cycling, began his journey at Mersch park on Friday afternoon. He planned to cover 553 kilometres in 24 hours - a distance which is symbolic of the number of pigs bred in Luxembourg and slaughtered daily for meat. Possing, who has been vegan for four years, hopes to raise awareness of eating consciously, as well as promoting less meat consumption.

Possing’s campaign “Cycling for Animals” will donate money to the Gnadenhof Papillon animal sanctuary in Munchhouse, which cares for sick or unwanted animals. Possing also personally sponsors three of the Alsace sanctuary’s animal residents.

Possing’s bike ride was due to end in Basel at 2pm, just in time to take part for the Vegan Messe.
