This prestigious competition was organised in Arpino, Italy, the birthplace of the philosopher and author Cicero.
12th grade students Bryan Atonfack, in a C section at the Lycée Josy Barthel Mamer, Théodore Harf Wilwers, in a B section at the Lycée Aline Mayrisch and Lukas Monteiro, also a C section student from the Athénée de Luxembourg, were among the 250 Latinists from around the world who participated at Certamen.
For a whole morning, participants were invited to translate and comment on a text by Cicero that they had not yet seen before.
Lukas Monteiro achieved the remarkable feat of winning an honourable mention by the jury.
