Luxembourg authorities intercepted counterfeit luxury goods worth €30 million in 2024, primarily high-end clothing, bags, and trainers – marking a dramatic increase over the past five years.

Customs data reveals a steep rise in seizures, from 6,500 items in 2020 to 89,000 in 2024. The upwards trend began after 2022, attributed by officials partly to post-pandemic economic recovery and resurgent consumer demand.

Minister of Finance Gilles Roth disclosed the figures in response to a parliamentary question by Pirate Party MP Sven Clement.
