The letter was signed by Rosa Lëtzebuerg's administrative board and published ahead of the Easter celebrations.

In its letter, the non-profit expresses its regret over the so-called "responsum ad dubium" by the Vatican's Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith regarding the blessing of homosexual couples. The Congregation stated in its official assessment, which was approved by the Pope, that the bond between two individuals of the same sex does not correspond to "God's Will" and could thus not be blessed by Catholic priests.

The administrative board of Rosa Lëtzebuerg states that it "has difficulty" understanding the Congregation's reasoning. The Church's position leads many homosexual Catholics to believe that they have been expelled from the community and thus Rosa Lëtzbuerg asks Cardinal Hollerich, whether gay people are "still welcome" in Luxembourg's Catholic Church.

The non-profit also suggests the creation of a task force on the topic of sexual orientation and identity.
