The sectors with the greatest demand will be construction, industrial professions, IT, administration and transport, according to the report published on Thursday morning.
The Federation of Luxembourg Industry conducted the survey among 700 of its members. Around 100 companies participated, representing just 16% of Fedil members, but around 30,000 jobs in the Grand Duchy.
The low response rate was thought to be due to low predictability in terms of hiring, particularly for smaller companies struggling with economic difficulties against the backdrop of high inflation.
The 2024 survey identified 1,970 hiring forecasts, including 942 (47.8%) job creations and 1,028 (52.2%) departure replacements over the next two years.
The most desirable qualifications among industrial businesses, according to the report, were the the professional aptitude diploma, or DAP, (36.2%), followed by a bachelor’s degree (17.5%), technician (15.3%) and master’s or doctorate (15.1%).
