Minister Yuriko Backes attended the latest meeting of the Ukraine Defence Contact Group in Ramstein, Germany, on Friday.
Kyiv has received 4.5 million cartridges for submachine guns, 275 special night vision glasses, and 12 observation drones to date, according to a statement issued by the ministry,
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy also attended the meeting in Ramstein, where he demanded more long-range weapons from the West, in order to be able to attack targets in Russia itself.
Luxembourg was also represented at the American military base by the Chief of Staff of the Army Steve Thull, alongside Backes.
Spain’s defence minister, Margarita Robles, also signed a declaration of intent to join the IT Coalition, led by Estonia and Luxembourg. This coalition now counts 14 nations and has dedicated around 50 million euros to support Ukraine in information and communication technologies.
Luxembourg, as the lead nation, has contributed a total of 17.5 million euros to the IT Coalition.
