Professional transport operators were fined over €1.4 million last year for road violations, a total Luxembourg's Customs and Excise Agency calls proof of an unacceptable disregard for the Highway Code.

The Luxembourg Customs and Excise Agency levied fines totalling €1,462,056 in 2025 as part of its road traffic controls, stating the sum reflects widespread non-compliance with the Highway Code among professional transport operators.

According to the agency, the figure of over €1.4 million demonstrates an “unacceptable” disregard for regulations in Luxembourg.

The majority of the fines, €1,078,000, were issued for “Eurovignette” offences. Other significant amounts included nearly €148,930 for breaches of driving and rest time rules, €43,500 for non-compliant loads, and €23,750 for exceeding maximum weight limits. Violations related to special transport accounted for €41,725, while general Highway Code infractions resulted in fines of €126,151.
